Getting Away and Getting Together:
Meetings, Events and Reunions in Grand County, Colorado

Grand County, Colorado Tourism – High in the Rockies is a place where you can get away, get together, and still get something done.  Just a short 90-minute drive from the Denver metro area, Grand County offers not only secluded mountain beauty but also all the facilities you need to put together the perfect corporate meeting, retreat or reunion.

Grand County’s four main communities offer a variety of facilities and experiences especially suited for group accommodations, gatherings, and recreational activities:

Kremmling, on the west side of the county, has long been known as a “sportsman’s paradise” for its wealth of wildlife and Western activity.  The area boasts numerous small hotels, bed and breakfasts, private cabins, campgrounds and dude ranches providing intimate meeting space with a touch of western hospitality.  Kremmling is also the gateway to such outstanding recreational activities as whitewater rafting on the Colorado River, ice fishing, mountain biking, and more.

The village of Grand Lake is nestled between the southern gate to Rocky Mountain National Park and the pristine alpine lake for which it is named.  From the casual charm of shopping along the downtown boardwalk to the focused intensity of a backcountry snowshoe or cross-country tour, the Grand Lake area offers the kind of experience that makes it popular with wedding parties and corporate retreats, ‘year round.

Granby, located at the intersection of the area’s two main highways, is the crossroads of the county, commercially as well as geographically.  Its central location makes it an ideal base camp for taking advantage of the recreational opportunities of the nearby Three Lakes area and the Arapaho National Recreation Area.  Granby is home to the county’s largest lodging and conference center, as well as numerous retail and service facilities.  Granby’s world-famous dude and guest ranches also offer accommodations, meeting space and group activities, from high-tech meetings to down-and-dirty cattle drives.

Winter Park and the Fraser Valley, at the eastern end of the county, combine first-class conference and meeting facilities and services with a range of exciting recreational activities.  Best known for its champagne powder skiing, the area also boasts primo hiking and biking during the summer.  Accommodations ranges from cabins and small bed-and-breakfasts to comprehensive conference centers; nearby amenities include casual and upscale dining, shopping, and cultural events.
