Grand Lake Olympic Winter Carnival
Spent the day at the Grand Lake Winter last Saturday and it was a blast! The theme was the Olympics so every business had a different “country”. Flags from all over the world lined the main street and each business had music and costumes to go along with the theme. The parade was great and we were especially in awe of the “Olympians” who marched in their togas, bare arms exposed to the somewhat chilly air! The bed-sled races were pretty exciting as they had to have a run off between the two top placers. We got a big kick out the human bowling….they just slide the human bowling ball along on a saucer and knock over the pins (empty water jugs). Olympic-theme music was playing in the town square and it was snowing softly….a prefect way to spend a Saturday!
